The cove by shea guitars is a light weight totally handmade vibe machine that is built to inspire and be enjoyed. Taking some design elements from older departments store guitars and beefing up the quality and attention to detail to be a truley unique, one of a kind intrument.
Features of the Cove
Every cove comes with a roasted flame maple neck as a standard. no upcharge! Every neck has a hand carved asymmetrical profile that fits right into your hands.
The cove comes in two styles
The hollow body style is known as just the Cove and our solid body option is called the slacktide cove.
They both have the same pots, jack, switch, pickups, roasted flame maple neck, pearl inlays, bound fingerboard, and are both very lightweight. We use roasted pine for the slacktides and that keeps them almost as light as the hollowbodies.
besides the body construction, the other difference is for the slack tide we loose the oil finish and double bound body, and use milk paint in its place. These come in so many colors so if you have a color you would like don’t hesitate to reach out and ask. These can come in a weathered finish if requested.
the standard cove also has threaded inserts in the neck which the slacktide does not.

Hello fellow guitar lovers
thanks for coming to my website and for your interest in my instruments. Ever since i can remember i’ve been obsessed with instruments. I grew up with them in the house and always had something in my hand to bang around with and make noise. like many guitar players i was obsessed with browsing through all of the different models, brands, and options that would just seem to be endless. the thought of making insutrments seemed to far fetched, and wasnt even on my radar.
After a life changing road trip across america i was fortunate enough to land myself a job in a guitar factory. Ever since then i was totally obessesed with everything related to making guitars.
I started out sanding bodies at a licensed by fender parts manufacturer and made it all the way to managing a boutique custom guitar shop to now owning my own custom guitar shop. Shea Guitars is the immense effort and obsession of the last 20 years of my life. Every guitar i make means the absolute world to me. from the very first jointer pass, to dialing in perfect intonation, i believe you can see how much i care abouth these instruments through my work.
